Linked-Learning

The Linked Learning Alliance is a coalition dedicated to transforming education by integrating rigorous academics with career-based learning in real-world settings. Through Linked Learning, students gain hands-on experience, preparing them for both college and career success. Schools participating in Linked Learning pathways focus on building strong industry partnerships, providing work-based learning opportunities, and supporting students with comprehensive academic and social services.

Gold Certification

Achieving Gold certification from the Linked Learning Alliance is a significant honor, recognizing a school’s high-quality implementation of Linked Learning principles. Schools with Gold status demonstrate excellence in student outcomes, equity, and career-readiness practices, offering students robust, meaningful pathways that connect their education to future careers. This certification signals to students, families, and community partners that the school is a model of Linked Learning success. Our school initially earned Gold status in 2020 and recertified in 2024.

Project-Based Learning

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional approach that engages students in solving real-world problems or answering complex questions through extended inquiry and hands-on learning. In PBL, students work collaboratively to investigate, design, and create solutions while integrating knowledge and skills from various disciplines. The process encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, and culminates in a final product or presentation that is shared with a broader audience. PBL empowers students to take ownership of their learning, making it more meaningful and relevant to their lives. Our school hosts two PBL showcases, one in the Fall and one in the Spring where we invite the wider community (families, district partners, industry partners) to be the audience.

Work-Based Learning

We recognize the importance of providing students with meaningful work-based learning (WBL) experiences. We provide work based learning opportunities that align with our program of study and that prepare all students for success in college, career, and life. Our comprehensive WBL plan is designed to offer all students a continuum of experiences tailored to their interests, abilities, and career goals as well as their pathway journey. Beginning with introductory experiences such as guest speaker events to more immersive experiences such as internships, this continuum allows students to gradually build their skills, knowledge, and confidence in real-world settings, while also providing opportunities for reflection and growth.
